Visual Arts Centre Creative Kids Art Immersion Course – 12 & 24 Sessions
Creative Kids Art Immersion Course by Visual Arts Centre provides opportunities for children (aged 5-9 years) to develop artistic knowledge and skills through a range of media, forms and expressions. Students will be able to experience different medias such as Acrylic, Oil Pastels, Markers, and Watercolour!
Visual Art Centre’s Creative Kids Art Immersion takes on a unique approach that encourages children to think out of the box. The course takes the kids through a fun learning journey of discovery and creativity with a wide variety of themes being covered – from the arts to the sciences to geography to anything under their imagination – the world is their oyster to explore!
In the Creative Kids Art Immersion Course, your children will be:
·       Experiencing and immersing themselves in oriental art e.g learning the different kinds of brush strokes, gaining knowledge on how to hold and handle a paintbrush, colouring and drawing.
·       Doing art and crafts with traditional Chinese rice paper
·       Creating interesting and amazing characters of their own imagination/ cartoon characters with jumping clay
·       Acrylic painting of the kids’ favourite cartoon characters or simple landscape pictures that they fancy
·       Drawing and colouring of different flowers or landscapes or cartoon characters that they can be proud to show you back home
·       Creating multi-media collage

The practice of drawing and sketching is the foundation of all visual arts. Through the usage of line and tone, solidity and depth is achieved, giving life to three-dimensional forms on a piece of paper. Systematic training in drawing is not only the first step into the world of art making but it is in fact, much more than that. The practice of drawing is therapeutic in nature and helps also cultivates patience, mental alertness, and perseverance.

One might think that building a DSA portfolio is as simple as putting together a few doodles and artworks your kids have done over the years, to submit them to the schools of your choice. However, taking into consideration the increasingly high standards and growing competition of art schools and DSA programmes, only extremely devoted and passionate students will be admitted to the prestigious art and design schools of their choice!

Preparing an art portfolio requires full compliance to particular sets of requirements announced by the respective schools. Direct School Admission, otherwise known as DSA is a special school admission exercise where students are given the opportunity to demonstrate a diverse range of achievements and talents to seek admission to secondary schools or junior colleges. For example, students may apply for DSA under visual arts with a portfolio of artworks that demonstrate the student’s talent and creativity.

This course introduces students to acrylic painting and encourages creative compositions. The first 8 sessions of Acrylic Painting will introduce participants to the medium and techniques, working on still life and landscape compositions and subjects. This skill is important, for anyone who is interested in learning  the basics of drawing and painting. Subsequently, students may bring their own painting references and receive guidance from our professional instructors to create their masterpieces!

In our studio, you will be able to learn how to paint a wide variety of subjects – from still life set-ups, landscapes and sceneries, portraits, flora and fauna and many more! Join us in studio to master the art of watercolour.

Our watercolour classes exposes you to the basics to get you acquainted with the medium. Our instructor will be guiding you on the foundations of drawing and sketching, before teaching you how to use watercolour paints.

You will get to familiarise with the types of brushes to use and the different techniques such as colour blending. This is recommended for anyone keen in learning watercolor, with a fuss-free experience. 

In a comfortable studio setting, you will complete a watercolour artwork in every 1-3 sessions and explore other painting techniques, through the guidance of our professionally trained art instructor.

This course is suitable for anyone – be it whether you are someone who have dabbled in watercolour painting before or otherwise! Our professional teacher will follow your pace and guide you along the way!
