FAQ
1.Shadow Support Services
We provide Shadow support for children on top of our existing programmes. Students with behavioural issues, high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder, severe language learning difficulties, mild cognitive deficits, and/or ADHD may require shadow support as they struggle to integrate into classrooms and schools.Children in schools are taught to develop academic skills, social skills, and independence. Teachers assist children to develop knowledge and gain an understanding of the world around them. Besides learning academics, teachers help children to understand the rules of play and social interaction, sharing, and caring. However, not all children learn at the same pace as their peers and may need additional support in some areas. Not all schools in Singapore are equipped to work with children with additional needs.

4.Early Intervention
Rigorous research has shown that the critical period of child brain development happens in the earliest years. According to Harvard University (2008, 2010), this is due to the following reasons:
Neural circuits, which are the foundations of learning, behaviour and health, are most malleable during the first three years of life
Early social and emotional development and physical health provide the foundation upon which cognitive and language skills can develop
High-quality early intervention services can alter a child’s developmental trajectory and improve outcomes for children, families and communities
Intervention is likely to be more cost-effective when provided earlier rather than later in life.
As such, early intervention methods are essential prerequisites for later success in school, the workplace, and the community. Good quality early intervention services serve a multitude of benefits including health, language and communication cognitive development and social/emotional development. Families benefit from early intervention by being able to better meet their children’s special needs from an early age and throughout their lives. Benefits to society include reducing economic burden through a decreased need for special education

5.Preschool Inclusion
Synonymous to the Mustard Seed Programme for students at primary level and above, we offer alternative modes of learning for preschoolers who are unable to thrive within the mainstream school environment at that age as well. Challenging behaviours can emerge in their early stages and it is important to find an intervention early.
The preschool inclusion programme is suitable for kindies who:
Have mild to moderate language / developmental delay who needs additional support within his/her preschool coupled with therapy within our centre.
Children who are with mild to moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder would benefit from an inclusive setting as well as intensive therapy.
