1.Preschool - For ages 2.5 yrs to 6 yrs
The
PRESCHOOL Program
is a five day preschoolers’ programme
which combines our 3-day English / Chinese enrichment programme with a 2-day
Sensorial enrichment of Art & Science for 2.5 years to 6.5 years. It is
differentiated from an ECDC as our specialist teachers are certified by MOE to
teach these academic subjects whereas ECDC preschools are not required to be
certified to teach such subjects. Specialist teachers in an enrichment
environment create a student who loves learning the subject and is confident to
be able to explore all areas on his / her own given proper instructions. It’s a
curriculum with the leading edge in preschool education in preparation for the
standards required in local Primary schools.
A true Pre-primary programme!
English
English curriculum provides sight
words, writing practices, sentence structure, grammar, story comprehension,
vocalization at the basic level. At the intermediate level, it moves on to
basic grammar rules, tenses, nouns, verbs, adjectives, spelling, male &
female contexts, comprehension. At the advanced level, students will be into
diary writing, presentation, dictation, homework, small projects, etc.
Math
Math would cover numbers 0 to 25,
addition, subtraction, patterning, shapes, size, more than / less than, graph,
ordinal numbers, time, money, fractions, calendar, seasons and maps at the
basic level. Under the intermediate level, numbers 0 to 100, number bonds,
double digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, money (dollars
& cents), time, fraction will be covered. At the advanced level, numbers 1
to 1000, graph, story sums, weight, length, money, time and volume will prepare
the students to take on Primary school easily.
Science
Unlike many other schools, we cover
science topics under our non-academic days providing the child to grow in the
awareness of his/her surroundings. Basic science will cover Plant and Animal
Biology, followed by the Human Body systems - digestive, respiratory, nervous
and circulatory. At intermediate level, students will explore the origin of
planets, earth, animals and the solar system. At the advanced level, the child
will learn about energy, electricity and magnetism, their everyday uses and the
impact on the earth and follow up with a presentation on clean energy.
Art
The art module includes oil painting,
watercolour, scrapbooking, paper quilling etc. It is also conducted in Chinese
in order to impart a conducive environment of Chinese culture. Ask our staff to
see some of the sample work and you will be pleasantly surprised at the
standards achieved.

An alternative to tutoring, it focuses
on understanding and application of topics.

Schedules are updated every term check

Enrolment
Students take an assessment test prior
to admission, which they must pass.
The test is to ascertain the dominant
learning style based on Multiple Intelligences.
