Reviews
1.PRIMARY
The learning outcomes of
our Primary English, Math and Science programmes are aligned with the syllabus
requirements of the Ministry of Education. In addition, we pride ourselves on 2
main focuses to make learning meaningful and enjoyable for our students. They
are: building students’ solid foundation in the subject content and developing
students’ critical thinking skills.
ENGLISH
English (Primary 3 to 6)
We cater lessons to equip
the students with the relevant grammar knowledge that they need to know at each
level.
We introduce strategies and
techniques to help the students in the various components of English such as
Editing, Grammar Cloze, Synthesis and Transformation, Comprehension open-ended
and Composition Writing.
We also incorporate fun and
interactive activities to expand the pupils' vocabulary bank and improve their
oral skills.
MATH
Maths (Primary 3 to 6)
We aim to use appropriate
methods to teach critical thinking skills so that they are able to apply them
to related mathematical questions.
We also emphasize on
conceptual understanding and analytical skills on PSLE tested topics and
stretch the learning curve with enhanced-learning resources.
SCIENCE
Science (Primary 3 to 6)
We equip the students with
the relevant Science knowledge through engaging and interesting lessons.
These include group
discussions, Science experiments, holiday workshops as well as hands-on
activities to develop students’ interests.
In addition, we also teach
the students strategies and higher thinking skills to answer multiple-choice
questions and open-ended questions.

2.SECONDARY
ELEMENTARY
MATHS
Elementary Maths (Secondary
1 to 5)
We offer at various levels
and teach based on the latest syllabus. We aim to help students in acquiring
concepts and in developing the interest for the subject. Helping them to
develop the relevant skillsets, and to reason logically in any Mathematics application
and related disciplines are our objectives.
ADDITIONAL
MATHS
Additional Maths (Secondary
3 to 5)
We offer Express and Normal
Academic courses. The knowledge of the concept is essential and the
applications of these concepts are equally important as well. As such, we will
equip students with the know-how approach to these sums and guide them with
explanations and illustrations. We will also provide practice papers to build
the confidence for the subject.
SCIENCE
Science (Secondary 1 to 5)
We offer lower secondary
science as well as sciences at upper secondary level.
At lower secondary level,
we will be providing students with the appropriate skills and nurture the
spirit of inquiry in the sciences. As the subject is divided into three parts -
Physics, Chemistry and Biology - students will be taught the overview and the
appreciation of these subjects to the principles and theories.
At upper secondary level,
Lessons conducted to emphasize on the understanding and application of
scientific concepts and principles through illustrations and lively
discussions. With these discussions and exercises, we hope to reinforce the
understanding and knowledge to these subjects. Practices will intensify few
months before the national examination, and will be focusing on answering well
for their written papers.
We offer pure sciences as
well as combined sciences on separate sessions.
PRINCIPLE
OF ACCOUNTS
We hope to develop an
understanding of the principles and concepts of accounting. We will be guiding
with illustrations on how these principles work in a variety of business
situations so that students can relate and respond suitably.
ENGLISH
In brief, English lessons
for Secondary Level are aimed at supporting and supplementing what the students
learn in school with the main objective of helping the students improve their
command of the language and subsequently, doing well for their English
examination. The 3 main areas of focus are Paper 1 (Editing, Situational
Writing and Continuous Writing), Paper 2 (Visual Text, Comprehension and
Summary) and Paper 4 (Oral skills).
Paper
1: Editing, Situation Writing and Continuous Writing
Students will be exposed to
writing different text types such as letters, reports, speeches, brochures and
news articles. They will be guided in making responses to a variety of
situations and circumstances through the process of problem / task analysis.
They will also learn how to establish the appropriate voice and tone. The same
approach is also applied in tackling Continuous Writing questions. Students
will be taught the various techniques in narrative, argumentative and
expository writing. Equal attention will be given to grammar and vocabulary so
that our students can write well and do well in the editing section.
Paper
2: Visual Text, Comprehension and Summary
Students will be trained in
reading Comprehension strategies such as making predictions and making
inferences based on contextual clues. Such a strategy aids in better clarity
and understanding of the passages and reading becomes a much manageable task.
Our tutors will also guide
the students in identifying different question types and knowing the types of
responses that are expected of them. We will also be practicing visual texts
and will be guiding the students to learn to answer visual questions.
Finally, our students will
also be taught Summary skills intensively. In addition to the fact that the
Summary section constitutes half of the entire Paper 2 marks, we wish to see
our students be skilled in summarizing and sieving out important points from
any given piece of information as such a skill will come in very handy when
they pursue higher learning and eventually entering the working world.
All these strategies are
useful in preparing the students in better understanding the comprehension
passages, as well as tackling the questions using appropriate answering
techniques.
Paper 4: Oral skills are
taught explicitly and implicitly here. Specific lessons will be dedicated to
intonation, pronunciation, rhythm, expression, fluidity and fluency. In
addition, students will be guided in methods of tackling picture description
and interpretation as well as the Conversation component.
