Rainbow Centre schools offer an education that goes beyond the disabilities of the students we serve. We respect the intrinsic and unique worth of every individual, and we believe that all children can learn, so we ask not whether someone can do something, but how they can do it.
Our aim is to nurture our students into adults who are able to live independently, grow continuously, and live in community interdependently.
The Special Education (SPED) programme features an outcomes-based functional curriculum, facilitated by a teaching team and supported by a multidisciplinary therapy team.
The curriculum is designed to meet students’ changing learning needs at different life stages:
- Junior Programme (7-10 years old)
- Middle Programme (11-14 years old)
- Senior Programme (15-18 years old)
Learning goals are focused on these areas:
- Social Emotional Learning
- Language and Communication
Each student gets an Individualised Education Plan – a customised learning roadmap. Integrating co-curricular activities, therapy services, the use of technology and character and citizenship education, our students experience a well-rounded education experience.
