About Mlc Tuition
MLC Education is Singapore’s most sought after Chemistry tuition center in the Singapore.
Chemistry is often seen as a subject where teachers tell you to blindly memorise facts and equations
Know more1.Sec 3 Pure Chemistry | Sec 3 Combined Chemistry
Significant jump in scientific thinking by students as the progress from general science in Secondary 2 to more in-depth study of Chemistry in Secondary 3. Students are required to grasp very abstract concepts like atomic structure and chemical bonding – ideas which they cannot easily relate to from the macroscopic perspective.Students often struggle with concepts like stoichiometry which requires strong application skills in order to solve higher order thinking questions. Students also often miss out on crucial keywords in their answering techniques, leading to significant loss of marks due to unfamiliarity with the marking scheme. Due to the large class sizes, teachers are unable to check on them individually to correct these misconceptions.Students are also often careless when attempting MCQ questions and get tricked by common pitfalls placed by examiners to trap them when they do not have a firm grasp of the foundational concepts. They also exhibit poor time management, leading to insufficient time to complete the examination. Information

2.Sec 4 Pure Chemistry
Secondary 4 is a critical year for students as they are sitting for their crucial ‘O’ Level examinations. The concepts learnt in Secondary 4 for pure Chemistry is constructed on the essential foundational topics built up in Secondary 3. Topics are linked together and failure to quickly adapt leads to accumulation of weak concepts that snowball, leading to the child being lost in many of the subsequent chapters.Concepts are more in-depth and require an excellent understanding of the subject matter in order to solve many of the application questions. Students also often miss out on crucial keywords in their answering techniques, leading to significant loss of marks due to unfamiliarity with the marking scheme. ‘O’ Level questions are of a much higher difficulty level than normal practice questions and students are often unprepared for the gap-up in complexity.Students are also often careless when attempting MCQ questions and get tricked by common pitfalls placed by examiners to trap them when they do not have a firm grasp of the foundational concepts. They also exhibit poor time management, leading to insufficient time to complete the examination.

4.JC1 H2 Chemistry Tuition
Steep learning curve from secondary school to JC, many students unable to adjust quickly enough. Topics are linked together and failure to quickly adapt leads to accumulation of weak concepts that snowball, leading to the child being lost in many of the subsequent chapters.Concepts are a lot more in-depth and require an excellent understanding of the subject matter in order to solve many of the harder application questions.Students can no longer apply rote learning techniques which they picked up in secondary school. Besides knowing the key words to answer questions accurately, students must also be able to recognize the myriad of ways that a similar concept can be applied, especially for higher order thinking questions.Students are also often careless when attempting MCQ questions and get tricked by common pitfalls placed by examiners to trap them when they do not have a firm grasp of the foundational concepts. They also exhibit poor time management, leading to insufficient time to complete the examination.

5.JC2 H2 Chemistry Tuition
JC 2 is a critical year for students as they are sitting for their crucial ‘A’ Level examinations in preparation for their entry to University. The concepts learnt in JC 2 is constructed on the essential foundational topics built up in JC 1. Topics are increasingly inter-linked and failure to master earlier content leads to accumulation of weak concepts that snowball, leading to the child being lost in many of the subsequent chapters.Students are often daunted by the learning of Organic Chemistry which is a massive chapter spanning 10 topics. They find that they are no longer able to apply rote learning and memorisation techniques. Instead, they need to have a in-depth understanding of how the various functional groups can converted from one to the other as well as a mechanistic understanding of what Organic Chemistry is about in order to tackle the higher order thinking questions.Students also face increasingly complex application questions which require them to understand the subject matter completely and be able to extend concepts to new, novel situations. In addition, they face an intimidating task in their practical examination to complete 3 tedious experiments accurately and precisely in a short time span, while juggling the analysing and evaluation of their data as well. The 4 papers is a hefty task, and students who are unable to withstand the load often buckle under the pressure.Students are also often careless when attempting MCQ questions and get tricked by common pitfalls placed by examiners to trap them when they do not have a firm grasp of the foundational concepts. They also exhibit poor time management, leading to insufficient time to complete the examination.

6.JC2 H1 Chemistry Tuition
JC 2 is a critical year for students as they are sitting for their crucial ‘A’ Level examinations in preparation for their entry to University. The concepts learnt in JC 2 is constructed on the essential foundational topics built up in JC 1. Topics are increasingly inter-linked and failure to master earlier content leads to accumulation of weak concepts that snowball, leading to the child being lost in many of the subsequent chapters.
Many Chemistry H1 students are from the Arts stream and do not have a firm grasp of their math and science concepts, leading to large gaps in knowledge and application.
Students are often daunted by the learning Polymerisation and Nanomaterials, both of which are unfamiliar and new topics. Due to the vague learning outcomes, even schools are at a loss on how to prepare students effectively for these topics.
Students also face increasingly complex application questions which require them to understand the subject matter completely and be able to extend concepts to new, novel situations.
Students are also often careless when attempting MCQ questions and get tricked by common pitfalls placed by examiners to trap them when they do not have a firm grasp of the foundational concepts. They also exhibit poor time management, leading to insufficient time to complete the examination.
