1.Beginner – Diploma: Individual Practical Lesson
Introduction
At Melody Strings, we provide Violin,
Viola, and Cello individual lessons starting from Beginner to Diploma. All
Melody Strings lessons are uniquely designed according to every student’s ability,
learning progress and development. This is to help them achieve effective
learning methods in order to unleash their full potential.
Aside from practical lessons, all
students are required to take Music Theory lessons as we believe that a good
foundation in performance and theory helps them excel better. It also assesses
a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of how music works.
Lessons
Schedule
Our lesson schedule is organised by
Melody Strings management team and/or teacher.
Individual Practical Lessons, once or
twice a week, 12 lessons per term inclusive of 1 Studio class every 3 months
and 1 performance class with piano accompaniment every 4 to 5 weeks.
Music Theory, once a week, inclusive of
Aural training and fundamentals of Piano playing.
Internal examination (Every end of May
and December) is compulsory for all Melody Strings students

2.Music Theory
Introduction
Music theory is like a language, it
enables students to understand the structure and meaning behind a musical
composition. It will assist students to understand and control contrasts in
dynamics, note values, and rhythms.
At Melody Strings, we will prepare you
for ABRSM theory exams. All Students need to complete Grade 5 ABRSM Music
Theory Exam in order to proceed to Grade 6 & above ABRSM Examination. Our
Music Theory lessons includes Aural training and students will get to learn the
fundamentals of piano playing too!

3.Melody Strings Chamber Orchestra (MSCO)
The MSCO comprises two ensembles tailored
to each individual skills level. If you are successful at MSCO audition, you
will be admitted to Melody Strings Junior Orchestra (MSJO) or Melody Strings
Senior Orchestra (MSSO).
Who may
apply?
Melody Strings welcome all Young
musicians aged 5 to 17 who play violin, viola and cello:
1) For Junior Orchestra: Attained a
standard of playing equivalent to ABRSM Grade 2 onwards.
2) For Senior Orchestra: Attained a start
of playing equivalent to ABRSM Grade 5 onwards.
*Candidates are required to prepare a
piece of music no longer than 5 minutes in duration to play for the panel.
Rehearsal
Schedule
Rehearsal Lessons, once a week at
Victoria Concert Hall.
Junior Orchestra: Every Sunday, 1.30pm to
3.30pm.
Senior Orchestra: Every Sunday, 4pm to
6pm.

Competition
String quartet is the most important form
of chamber music in the classic period, it is the most harmonious, noble,
elegant, and classic performance combination.
This is a challenging performance for
strings musician, through exquisite performance skills and perfect ensemble
tacit to express the beauty and the connotation of music.
Although Strings Quartet not as pulsating
as the symphony, but the music of this genre is based on exquisite lyrics,
creating a musical atmosphere of friendly conversation between people. It is
also the form of music advocated by the nobles, becoming the most meticulous
instrumental genre of today.
