Get
Violin / Piano lessons with Elgar Kwek, an event musician with a violin
performance degree (Hons) from GSMD, 20 years of teaching and 25 years of
orchestra experience.
Elgar Kwek loved music as
a child, and started performing at the age of 9 years old. Before he turned 17
years of age, he had already studied violin performance with Ho Boon Thiam
(Singapore), Lin Yaoji (China), and Kam Kee Yong (Singapore). He also studied
Piano Pedagogy, which is the study of the teaching of piano playing, with
Josephine Koh and Rita Kwek. Elgar Kwek played first violin with People's
Association chamber orchestra under the direction of Kam Kee Yong.
After the age of 17, Elgar
Kwek went on to study Violin performance at Guildhall School of music and drama
and graduated with honours. That was also when he started coaching at their
junior classes as well as at private lessons.
He also played first violin with UBS Verbier Orchestra (now renamed the
Verbier Orchestra) and was an assistant concertmaster.
Fees
Fees range and change
according to the grade the student is at. It starts at $200 per person per 4
lessons for Grade 1 and up.
