Learning Point’s humble beginnings trace back to 1995, where we began in a shophouse unit situated at Thomson Ridge. Though we started small – with just five students – we had a big ambition, where we were committed to teaching young ones how to read and appreciate the English language

4.Primary - Excellence in Science
Tailored for students from Primary 3 to
6, Excellence in Science (Primary) places a strong focus on the application of
scientific concepts. Knowing that children are innately curious about their
environment and have a keen sense of exploration, Excellence in Science seeks
to nurture our students’ spirit of inquiry through frequent Science experiments
and hands-on activities. Our class activities and experiments are designed to fuel
this spirit of curiosity, where our end goal is to nurture students who enjoy
the learning of science.
In preparation for the challenge of the
PSLE in Primary 6, students will also be equipped with exam techniques

5.Primary - Excellence in Math
Excellence in Math (Primary), a skill-based
programme, develops our students’ critical thinking, reasoning, and
meta-cognitive skills through applied content that reinforces real-world
learning. It enhances students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics through
the concrete-pictorial-abstract approach.
As they progress through primary school,
students will gain exposure to a myriad of questions that require higher-order
thinking skills. They will be taught to hone their problem-solving skills,
building their confidence to handle non-routine questions. This nurtures
students who are highly adept in identifying, analysing, and responding to a
wide repertoire of challenging questions.
With the continual revision and

6.Primary - English Programmes - Excellence in English
Excellence in English equips our lower
primary students with the skills and confidence to read, write, and speak well.
They will develop strong foundations in grammar, vocabulary, and writing,
through class activities that promote active and frequent reading. Through
this, we illustrate to our students that language skills are applicable in real-world
settings beyond the classroom.
As they transition to middle primary,
students will be prepared for the transition to examinations and weighted
assessment. To this end, we ensure a smooth transition by incorporating some of
these elements at the end of Primary 2, where students gain their first
exposure to Primary 3 examination components. In the middle primary years,
students will continue enhancing their language foundations, while picking up
specific tried-and-tested skills for both Paper 1 and 2 for exam excellence.
Upon entering upper primary, students
focus on the mastery of the linguistic skills students have learnt. This
provides them with an added edge and confidence to meet the demands of the
PSLE. In addition, students will be equipped with key skills and techniques

7.Primary - English Programmes - Excellence in Writing
Learning Point's Excellence in Writing
programme inculcates in young learners a thirst for the written word through
greater exposure to a wide range of vocabulary and expressions. Students will
also have opportunities to practice creating their story ideas in a timed
environment, to simulate exam conditions.
With a strong emphasis on creative
writing techniques and literacy skills, students will be taught how to enhance
their narrative writing through a variety of strategies. Students will
gradually be introduced to newer and more challenging techniques as they
progress from Primary 3 to Primary 6. These include the use of dialogue,
similes and metaphors, characterization, among others.
As students advance to upper primary,
they will also be introduced to other text types, such as expository and
personal recount passages. They will also be trained in situational writing
where they learn how to write different text types, including emails, letters,
and reports.
By the time students sit for the PSLE,

Learning Point's Excellence in English
(Secondary) programme builds global thinkers with a keen awareness of current
affairs, both within local and international contexts.
Excellence in English (Secondary) is a
comprehensive programme designed to enhance all facets of English language
proficiency, through thematic lessons which explore current affairs and
real-world issues. These are woven into our curriculum, enabling students to
make connections between academic learning and the world they live in.
Students will be given opportunities to
read and write a variety of text types. They will also hone their critical
thinking skills as they pick up techniques to answer exam questions with clarity
and precision. With a dedicated lesson each term focusing on oratorical skills,

Learning Point's Excellence in English
STAR is tailored for the rigour of the Integrated Programme (IP). It prepares

14.Junior College - General Paper
A rigorous programme, Learning Point’s
General Paper programme equips students with essential skills and techniques
that pave the way to exam excellence in the GCE ‘A’ Level examinations.
To excel at General Paper, students need
to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of diverse topic areas, and be
able to analyze and evaluate global and local issues across a variety of
disciplines. It is essential for them to possess the ability to read, write and
think critically when presented with course material and in answering exam
