Our Mathematics programme is designed for students aiming to build a solid foundation in mathematics and explore fascinating mathematical ideas and concepts beyond Primary School level mathematics. Our teachers transform abstract mathematical concepts into ideas that learners can grasp readily. We do this by dissecting problems into smaller, easily digestible logical parts and by relating the concepts being introduced to everyday situations that children are familiar with.

To encourage independent and critical thinking, a key skill in tackling non-routine questions, we ask learners to investigate the validity a particular method under various different scenarios, or to compare alternative methods of solving a particular question.

As an extension to the Primary School Mathematics syllabus, our curriculum features the Trachtenberg Speed Calculation System, a system of mental calculation designed to build speed and accuracy in numeracy operations.

At the end of it all, students will not only score well in PSLE Mathematics, they will develop a love for numbers!

Creative writing is part science and part art. The science of writing is concerned with the construction of coherent sentences. The art of creative writing, on the other hand, refers to the composition of sentences that move the reader. To write well, one must be skilled in both respects.

The scientific aspect - grammar, punctuation, semantics - is something anybody can become proficient in with sufficient effort. The artistic aspect requires exploration, ingenuity and practice. There are limitless ways in which an idea can be expressed in writing. In this creative writing programme, we train writers to think about their writing objectives and equip them with the necessary skills to achieve them.

The GEP is a programme that caters for the needs of intellectually gifted students. Students are identified for the GEP by the Ministry of Education through a 2-stage exercise in Primary 3. Selected students will be invited to join the programme, which begins in Primary 4 and ends in Primary 6. The enriched GEP curriculum covers the same content areas as those in the mainstream, but is extended in breadth and depth.

The GEP/Advanced English programme at Joyous Learning is designed for GEP students or advanced students who wish to undertake the study of English at a higher level.
Based on the MOE GEP syllabus, this programme covers the mainstream components that are assessed in the PSLE English paper as well as the more sophisticated and subtle aspects of reading, writing, listening and speaking that will enrich students' study of the English language.
