2.PRIMARY
English (P1
to P6)
This course develops the students’ ability
in oral, written, reading and listening skills and their overall mastery of the
language. Newcastle’s curriculum and teaching approach is specially designed to
equip students with the necessary tools to enhance their linguistic capability
through communication skills and creative writing as well as editing of grammar
and vocabulary.
Mathematics
(P1 to P6)
This course aims to develop the students’
mathematical ability in logical reasoning and problem solving skills. The study
of Mathematics goes beyond numbers and its fundamental operations and the
teaching approach at Newcastle will enable the lesser ability students to grasp
the important concepts easier and develop confidence in solving questions for
their school tests and examinations.
Science (P3
to P6)
This program focuses on the students’
ability to discover the interesting world of Science and understand the basic
concepts taught according to the MOE syllabus. The subject is categorized into
five separate themes namely Diversity, Systems, Cycles, Interactions and
Energy. Students will also be enticed with the use of Science Kits such as
Magnetism and Electricity which caters to the visual and kinesthetic learners
in our centre.

The new Chinese language curriculum aims
to make language learning more enjoyable, so that the students would take
Mandarin beyond the classroom. Key learning areas include listening and
speaking as well as building a strong foundation in Chinese characters in lower
primary and developing essay skills in upper primary. Newcastle’s curriculum
and teaching approach is specially designed to ensure that each student will
learn the language to the best of their abilities via a step-by-step process.

English

English represents an essential tool for
universal communication. Our main focus is developing the mastery of the
language through writing, oral communication and comprehension. Additional
lessons on creative writing are available to enable students to develop
confidence and flair in the English language as well as to strengthen their
communication skills to prepare them in real world situations.

This course aims to develop the students’
ability to listen, read, view critically with accuracy as well as understand
and appreciate a wide range of literary and informational / functional texts.
The teaching approach here will enable students to speak and write Chinese that
is grammatically fluent, mutually intelligible and appropriate for different
purposes, audiences, contexts and cultures. We also seek to prepare them well
in accordance to the “O” Level Chinese syllabus.

strands namely, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry and Calculus. Weekly lessons
are specially tailored to suit the learning needs of the students and
challenging questions are given to students.

4.JC - H2 Chemistry
The study of Chemistry provides an
interesting insight into the world of different materials and its applications
to the outside world. Students will be exposed with the study of various themes
such as Physical, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry. Our highly-qualified teacher
would seek to deliver the lesson in the most straightforward way, dissecting
the complex concepts yet providing an overarching linking between topics to
prepare the students for their school and “A†Levels Examinations which
places emphasis on integrated questions.

5.PRE SCHOOL
English
Our program focus on developing the
students’ listening, speaking and early literacy skills (which includes reading
and writing skills). It is through the teaching of grammar, listening skills
through computer aided-learning, vocabulary and sentence structure that
children develop foundational language skills. The children will also have the
opportunity to learn the names and sounds of letters and words in the content
of stories, rhythm or poem.
Mathematics
Our curriculum aims to develop the
children’s self-confidence and strong foundational numeracy skills. Being
numerate enables children to understand and apply mathematical concepts, skills
and process effectively. Students will recognize and use the simple
relationship, pattern, time, money, shape and spatial concepts. Thus, children
will be able to make sense of their encounters with Mathematics in their daily
lives.
Chinese
The focus of language learning in
pre-school years is on developing the listening and speaking skills of children
which will lay the foundation of language learning in later years. Hanyu Pinyin
is part of our Pre-primary Chinese curriculum. Children will also learn words
in context so that they understand the meaning of the words and are able to use
these words in speech and writing.

6.Abacus
During the classes, children go through lightning-fast number quizzes. Raised hands, enthusiastic answers, and even laughter are a common sight. The element of fun and play are injected into the programme, so numbers need not be boring or frightening! Here, every child has the opportunity to participate, which is essential in the learning process. We have successfully trained teachers from both local and overseas schools on the abacus know-how. Our programme is also gaining popularity in the pre scholars segment as parents recognize the importance of starting young for their kids. We have also successfully brought our services to several primary schools. We have been entrusted to run the abacus lessons as part of their enrichment programme for the pupils.

7.Chinese Culture, Speech and Drama Programme
The Chinese Culture, Speech & Drama Programme is a uniquely interesting series that aims to enrich the learning curriculum of pre-schoolers. The programme will help to cultivate interest and love for Chinese Culture in children from a young age, through familiarisation and a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and arts.The programme content covers five areas, which are the spoken language, customary traditions, written language(evolution), Chinese folk art and craft, and cultural performances to engage children in a creative learning process.
