MATHS

Our K2 Math and General Ability curriculum prepares students with skills of understanding and solving intriguing questions.

Our teachers strive to engage children in the world of numbers through strengthening their foundation at the start, and then gradually building up the momentum to expose them to mind-stretching problems and develop their critical thinking skills. The mental addition and subtraction ‘more than’, ‘less than’ concept and the major topics of P1 will be covered.

ENGLISH

Our K2 English course aims in preparing our preparatory students to the Primary 1 syllabus gradually and all areas of language. In general, schools expect children to enter Primary One with the following proficiency:

• Read (with articulatory and auditory phonetics) and write all 26 alphabets in the capital and small letters.

• Know how to read and spell simple words (vocabulary).

• Know how to construct simple English sentences (grammar).

Math Olympiad

Training in Math Olympiad is the most direct way to hone one’s Math skills at the highest level, as students will be exposed to various mind-boggling questions that challenge them to explore concepts and discover the magical properties of numbers. With the academic bar set much higher in examinations since primary school, questions at competitive Math Olympiad levels are finding their way into the school papers even though these questions are not explicitly within the syllabus, and are never taught to the students in school. In addition, proficiency in Math Olympiad examinations can grant students an automatic place in the Direct School Admission (DSA) and serve as credentials for preferential university placement.

Science Olympiad

Achievement in the Science Olympiad Competition will provide students with better credentials to the Direct School Admission (DSA) selection and even for University Admission. The preparation for the competition will widen their knowledge in Science and its related fields. Our lessons are conducted in a fun and interactive classroom environment, with teachers who are knowledgeable and familiar with the question types of Science Olympiad through their years of experience.

P1-3 GEP Preparation: English, Math, and General Ability

Our courses for Gifted Education Program (GEP) preparation is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the syllabus and question types that are required of them during the first and second rounds of the GEP test, as well as skills and knowledge comparable to those taught in higher levels of the primary school syllabus.

P4-6 GEP English

Our P4-6 High Ability English course caters to students who have entered the GEP program in their respective schools and also those who aim to ace their primary English Language. Due to the nature of the GEP curriculum, students are exposed to many different text types, complex problems, and they will engage in plenty of group work. The questions covered in the GEP syllabus are broad and challenging, hence our teachers will provide students with various forms of comprehension passages, an advanced vocabulary bank, and writing tips and drills, so as to widen the students’ exposure as much as possible. Furthermore, our courses designed to prepare students for the upcoming PSLE English exams.
We aim to cultivate a love for English and reading in every child. From classic novels to non-fiction articles, students are taught to digest and understand different types of texts and answer a variety of questions based on their comprehension. They are introduced to the world of creative writing, honing their self-expression and sowing the seeds for an important lifelong skill. Along with reading and writing, students will pick up extensive vocabulary which can be easily applied to their daily lives, enabling them to read and understand more advanced material. Of course, students will gain large amounts of general knowledge from the content covered in class, as well as from their own reading. Focused on high ability language, the skills taught in class will give students an edge in upper primary English and gear them for the PSLE English examinations. Additionally, the students will have plenty of opportunities to practice working with others and vocalising their ideas in group work settings during our classes. Whether they aim to score in the PSLE, to improve their grasp of English or both, we are confident that our students will walk out of our Primary English and PSLE English classes with a newfound appreciation for the English language and its culture.

P4-6 GEP Math

Our P4-6 GEP Maths course is designed specifically for students in the GEP stream. It focuses on effective applications of various methodologies and helps further develop the skills that are essential to the student’s success and tackle questions that require complex problem-solving skills. At the same time, our course will also prepare students for the upcoming PSLE Maths exams. Our teachers will guide students through the weekly sets of worksheets that are provided for each lesson, and students will also get to engage in group discussions to come out with solutions for some of the challenging and tricky questions. In addition, students will be induced to participate actively in small games and competitions to test their Maths concepts and understanding,  allowing them to apply what they have learned and challenge themselves in an engaging environment.

P3-6 GEP Science

Our P3-6 GEP Science Programme helps to arouse students’ interest in Science and enable them to understand the application of Science in a real-life context. Materials used are specifically catered to students who have entered the GEP Programme in their respective schools. Our programme tends to widen students knowledge in Science and beyond what the school taught. Students will be exposed to challenging and intriguing Science concepts through our engaging classroom discussion.

P1-6 Challenging English
Our Primary Mainstream English/Challenging English course prepares students specifically for school-based and PSLE formats. The course is divided into 2 main components, and, based on the student’s academic level, will include progressively more complex questions. Attention will be paid to students’ listening and oral skills every week as well, when discussion is initiated and moderated by the teacher.

P1-6 Challenging Math

It is crucial to building a strong Maths foundation in your child’s early years. Primary Maths in Singapore is the bedrock that may determine how fast and effectively your child can pick up new Maths skills throughout his schooling journey.

P1-6 Chinese/Higher Chinese

P3-6 Challenging Science

Your child will be exposed to a very exciting new subject when they start Primary 3. Science is all around us and studying it helps your child to explore the world we live in in a new light because science can be seen and explained almost everywhere. The subject teaches your child everything from the air we breathe, how we remain grounded due to gravity, and how our body system functions. It gives us a way to explore possible solutions to all problems.

Global Education’s P3-6 Challenging Science program aims to cultivate the love for learning the subject and provide a safe and nurturing space to explore this new subject. Our pedagogy helps students develop essential problem-solving skills for the Primary Science general curriculum.

WHAT IS THE AEIS

The Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) is a standardized admissions exercise by the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore for international students interested in attending mainstream primary and secondary schools.

S1-4 English (IP)

Our Secondary IP English programme includes a compressive syllabus that complements the unique requirements of the Integrated Programme (IP). Students will be exposed to higher-level text types and expressions. This allows them to gain confidence and self-discipline needed to make that transition to A-level standards in JC (Junior College), or to an IB (International Baccalaureate) diploma. In addition, students will be taught on formulating balanced opinions. They will be encouraged to explore different perspectives through narratives that discuss current affairs both local and beyond.

S1-4 English (IB)

Our Secondary English for IB (International Baccalaureate) program stays true to the official IB syllabus, whether its the IB Primary Years Programme or the Middle Years Programme. Emphasis is placed on inquiry and intellectual finesse—with students constantly being encouraged to connect classroom theories and discussions to real-world applications. Also essential to our course is the acquisition of higher-level grammar, vocabulary, and expression that will allow them to grow into articulate individuals who can think creatively and critically. These skills equip students with the social, intellectual, and academic skills needed when they enter universities both locally and overseas.

S1-4 Maths

Our Secondary Maths programs are tailored to instill an in-depth understanding of abstract problems involving numbers and diagrams in different contexts. Our teachers place a strong emphasis on conceptual understanding as much as hands-on practice—a habit so crucial in doing well in Math on any level. As the class progresses, students will also be taught to solve non-routine and higher-level mathematical questions. There will also be drilling of hot exam question/ topics, which allow students to familiarise with various solving methods and the key topics that might be tested in the O-level examination.

Lesson pace is tailored to the school syllabus and is catered to students taking O-Level or N-Level, Elementary Math (E-Math), or Advance Maths (A-Math).

S1-4 IP/IB Math

As with all our Math courses, students in our S1-4 IP Math tuition and IB Math courses are given an edge over their peers when it comes to approaching numerical, graphical and geometrical challenges. Besides being exposed to the essential methodologies, students are constantly encouraged to do their own detective work and to test out possible solutions. Wrong answers are never seen as final—rather, students are taught to examine their own mistakes and encouraged to learn and correct them.

S1-4 IP/IB/O-level Chinese

Our Secondary 1-4 Chinese course is for students taking the O-Level/ IB /IP programme.  It focuses on acquisition of the Chinese language and development of linguistic skills, which enables students to master the language with confidence. As with our English language courses, focus will also be placed on written and oral expression, and students will get acquainted with test formats corresponding to their academic level.

S1-4 Challenging Science

Our lower Secondary Science program helps students with their transition from the basic primary level to the much more complex secondary level. Once students are acclimated to the demands of challenging scientific theories and formulas, they will then be progressively introduced to the specialised Sciences – Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Students will get familiar with the different topical approaches, and develop an ability to break down question requirements with speed and accuracy. On top of broadening their Science knowledge, our students will also be trained on their critical thinking to answer questions with ease.

H1 General Paper

Our JC General Paper Tuition prepares JC 1/2 students for the GCE A’ Level H1 General Paper Examinations. Every week, tutors will present students with a topic or a set of similar topics which they will analyse, discuss, and craft a suitable response for each question. Tutors will train on their writing skills, such that they are able to express their opinions articulately and offer a balanced perspective. Students will be taught to respond in different point of views, the ways to improve their sentence structures, and to avoid ‘slippery slopes’, all through our topic discussion and writing drills. At the end of the day, our students will be able to produce arguments which are fluent, sharp and logical.

H2 Biology

Our H2 Biology Programme offers students a sound understanding of the basic and advanced concepts and terminology required for the exam. With carefully prepared notes and lessons, students will learn how to interpret diagrams and complex questions pertinent to a topic every week.

H2 Chemistry

Our H2 JC Chemistry Programme prepares students for all components of the GCE A’ Level Chemistry paper. Students will go through the various topics based on the latest H2 Chemistry syllabus and get acquainted with the format and requirements for doing well. As many students struggle with Chemistry, our JC Chemistry tutors are more than aware of that. Hence, they have tailored a teaching methodology which students will find much simpler to understand.

H2 Economics

Our H2 JC Economics Programme equips students with an in-depth understanding of key economic concepts that are covered in the syllabus. During group sessions, students will discuss real-world events that had raised debate amongst economists, and learn to question economic theories, ie. how applicable are those theories in real-life situations? Additionally, they will receive carefully-crafted notes which are fruits of labor from our tutors, after many years of teaching experience and taking into consideration the common struggles faced by students. Most of all, our teachers make lessons interactive and engaging for the students, encouraging them to speak up in class and clear their doubts proactively. At the end of the day, students will learn to explain and analyse economic issues using economic reasoning and come up with their own evaluations.

H1/H2 Mathematics

Our H1/H2 JC Maths Programme prepares JC students for the GCE A level H2 Mathematics Examinations through drilling on their mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Firstly, students will learn the different solving methods that are necessary for their syllabus and understand the derivation of concepts and formula. Then, they will move on to apply the concepts learned on questions that are compiled by topics. This training style allows them to familiarize with all kinds of questions and know immediately the methods of approach required.

H2 Physics

Our H2 Physics classes offer students an in-depth understanding of Physics concepts that will be tested in the GCE A’ Level Examinations. Students will be exposed to the different topical aspects of Physics and learn the value which Physics provides in the understanding of our world. Art Enrichment

Our Enrichment Art classes emphasis the importance of both technical and artistic ability when it comes to art creation and appreciation. Through the exposure of styles and techniques used by artists in different contexts, budding artists will get to engage their creative selves and learn to reflect on the different qualities of the visual arts.

English Creative Writing Enrichment

Our English Creative Writing programme is for the students who are discontented with stopping at the scholastic requirements of essays. Especially when narratives begin to give way to expository and argumentative pieces, creative writing classes focus on honing writing skills for continuous and situational writing pieces.

Japanese Enrichment

Open to learners of all ages and proficiencies, our Japanese language classes are conducted by native speakers of the Japanese language. Throughout the course, students will be able to sit for the official Japanese Language Proficiency Test from levels N5 (Beginner) to N1 (Advanced). Certificates are issued by the Japan Foundation and the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services, and are officially recognised for overseas studies and foreign business employment.

Primary/Secondary Oral Programme (English)

The Oral Assessment component is often overlooked by students and parents because of its low weightage in the English Language syllabus. Our Primary and Secondary level oral programme seeks to correct that oversight and to get students up to speed on oral exam techniques. All the aspects of the oral assessment component will be covered: Reading, Picture Description, and Conversation.

P1-6 Speech and Drama Training Enrichment

In a fun and safe environment, children in our Speech and Drama course will learn how to express themselves in different contexts, and learn the value and nuances of social interactions at the same time.
