1.Strings Course
Strings
Beginner
Enrolment age: 5 – 6 with
no prior knowledge of instrument required
(Students will be assessed on natural
potential and readiness)

30 minutes of individual lesson per week
·
One Studio class per term
·
One Masterclass or Performance class per term
·
Lesson contents include basic posture of playing, basic
bowing techniques, intonation, finger patterns, basic rhythm, note reading,
fingering, tonalization, basic dynamics.
Strings Grade 1- 5
Enrolment age: 12 &
below with basic techniques on instrument
(Students will be assessed for
placement)

Practical

45 minutes of individual lesson per week for Grade 1 – 4
·
60 minutes of individual lesson per week for Grade 5
·
One Studio class per term
·
One Masterclass or Performance class per term.
·
Lesson contents focus on foundation of left and right hands
techniques, including finger patterns, intonation, tone production,
articulation, shifting, sight reading up to 5th position, finger dexterity,
coordination, vibrato.
Strings Grade 6 – 8
Enrolment age: 15 &
below with substantial techniques on instrument
(Students will be assessed for
placement)

One Masterclass or Performance class per term
·
Lesson contents focus on development of left and right hands
techniques, including advanced bowing techniques, finger agility, double stops,
sight reading up to 7th position, tone colours and projection, concept of
styles and characters, chamber music experience.
Strings Diploma
Enrolment age: 16 &
below with performance level equivalent to Forte Musicademy Grade 8
(Students will be assessed for
placement)

·
Lesson contents focus on advanced performance concept and
techniques, including chamber music performance.
Strings Portfolio
Enrolment age: 16 &
below who have attained performance level equivalent to DipABRSM or ATCL
(Students will be assessed for
placement)

Practical only
·
5 individual lessons of 60 minutes per term
·
Several solo performances accumulated to 45-min programme per
year
·
Lesson contents focus on repertoire building and performance
practice.

2.Piano Course
Piano
Beginner
Enrolment age: 4 – 6 with
no prior knowledge of instrument required
(Students will be assessed on natural

Keyboard lesson will include understanding of the instrument,
building finger dexterity, finger strengthening, good posture, note reading,
rhythm understanding as well as music appreciation.
Piano Grade 1 – 5
Enrolment age: 12 &
below with basic keyboard abilities
(Students will be assessed for
placement)

45 minutes of individual lesson per week for Grade 1 – 4

60 minutes of individual lesson per week for Grade 5

instrument, repertoire building, technique, finger dexterity, strengthening,
sight reading, understanding of repertoire, technical exercises.
Piano Grade 6 – 8
Enrolment age: 15 &
below with substantial keyboard abilities
(Students will be assessed for
placement)

Lessons will include understanding of the instrument,
repertoire building, technique, finger dexterity, strengthening, sight reading,
understanding of repertoire, technical exercises. Potential and well-prepared

ensemble, concert etc.
