1.Moving Melodies
This
pre-school program is uniquely crafted for our youngest dancers. The activities are curated to develop the
vestibular and proprioceptive systems in preschoolers. A well-functioning vestibular and
proprioceptive system lays the foundations for young children to transit into
more complex activities such as reading and writing. The program is developed by our founders,
with over 10 years of experience in teaching preschool dance.
Level
1 (18-30 months with parents’ accompaniment)
Children
at this stage have a strong desire to learn, and are moving and exploring the
world like never before. With busy little ones in mind, this program aims to
develop their gross motor, emotional and social skills, through music, movement
and sensory activities, free exploration, songs, rhymes, as well as art and
crafts. The selected activities aim to
strengthen / develop the neurological brain patterns are developed in the first
year of life that wires the central system for sensory-motor development.
A
gap in the process can lead to learning disabilities or disorders in behavior,
memory, balance, and sleep. Thus, the program model serves to facilitate the
healthy development of a young child's neurological pattering, whilst at the
same time encourage exploration, discovery, and strengthening the
caregiver-child bonding.
Level
2 (30-48 months)
With
a growing sense of confidence, this program offers 2.5- to 4-year-olds, a
lively environment to be independent and to experience the joy of music and
movement. Built upon the foundations of
level 1, children are introduced to more complex music & movement concepts,
which aims to increase balance, flexibility, and co-ordination. Basic dance
technique is introduced at this level.

2.RAD Ballet
At
Dance Theatre Arts, Pre-school Children may be nurtured for ballet from as
young as 3 years old through our Moving Melody Creative Movement Program. Older
Students who develop a great love for Ballet after joining the Regular RAD
classes. and are willing to make greater
commitments, may join our Classical Program.
The
Classical Program offers a greater fusion between RAD and other Instruction
Systems in order to achieve a higher level of excellence in Ballet and
Performance. Dance Theatre Arts (DTA)has RAD certified teachers and offers
classes for the full range of RAD Grades. We also have teachers who are able to
impart to students the best of other dance methods including the Vaganova
Ballet system, Cecchetti method, Tap Dance, Jazz and performance Arts.

3.Classical Ballet
Dance
Theatre Arts (DTA) Classical Ballet Program is designed for committed and
dedicated students who seek to excel in the best of classical ballet techniques
and artistry.
It
is quite evident that dancers who have achieved places in renowned ballet/dance
companies, and even children who win awards at local competitions, usually have
gone through training under different dance traditions including the RAD,
Vaganova, Ceccheti Method, etc, this is because each dance tradition bring with
its own strengths and positive nuances
It
is noteworthy that in 1920 the Association of Operatic Dancing of Great
Britain, the predecessor of RAD, called on experts of different classical
ballet genres in Europe to help improved Ballet training in Britain. These
renowned persons included Phyllis Bedells from England; Lucia Cormani from
Italy; Edouard Espinos from France; Adeline Genée from Denmark; Tamara
Karsavina from Russia and Ninette de Valo, the founder of England's Royal
Ballet
While
the cross-fertilization of Dance Arts and Teaching Technique continued, each
genre evolved mostly along its own tangent, developing its own emphasis,
values, practices, driven by history, and more so by social and cultural,
including pop trends within which it mainly operates.
For
example, major training systems teach the arabesques in different ways. The
French school considers the orientation: which leg is raised relative to the
audience. R.A.D. and Bournonville consider the positions of the arms; Cecchetti
does, too, and adds variations for the supporting leg and the gaze. The Soviet
system incorporates both orientation and port de bras. There are differences in
almost every movement and feet position and the exercises and practice routines
to attain

there always are always benefits integrating between different dance genres at
any point of time.

4.Performing to Perform
All
Kids love performing on stage, some after overcoming initial nervousness... and
parent are often proud and overjoyed. "Performing to Perform" is one
of At Dance Theatre Art's driving principles. We have witnessed many students
inspired to achieve greater excellence through Stage Performance. This
inspiration not only improve their dance, but extends to their school work and
their overall attitudes towards achievement.
At
Dance Theatre Arts we provide ample opportunities for the kid to perform at
concerts and events. Each child in our
Classical Program is coached to master a Solo piece and a Pas de deux within a
well-known classical repertoire. At DTA
we firmly believe that Ballet provides the fundamental skills to anyone who
wishes to perform on stage.
While
Ballet is our key emphasis, we do appreciate that, w many students may want to
progress on a more diverse path towards Musical Theatre. Our Performing Arts
Program is designed to meet such students' needs.
DTA Performing Arts
DTA's
Performing Arts Program adopts syllabi from the Australian Teachers of Dance (ATOD)
and Trinity Guildhall Performance Arts School where some of our teachers and
Dance Directors have undergone training.
Key Features
·
Students go through progressive learning cycles of 1. DANCE
2. DRAMA 3. VOCAL 4. PERFORMANCE, over a minimum period of 3
years attending 6 hours of classes per week.
·
Ballet is mandatory, forming 40% of coursework. Students are
strongly encouraged to pursue RAD grading. Our Ballet Syllabus combines those
of RAD, Raganova System and Cechetti Methods.

Besides Ballet, Students will have to choose one other dance specialization
and be familiar with two other Dance Types. Students may choose from
Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, and a variety of Street/Pop Dances.
·
Drama, Vocal and Performance, theory and practice will be
taught in both classroom environment and on stage. Students will be trained to
perform in various roles in a minimum of 2 musical stage plays, one classical
and one modern.
·
DTA can provide advice and assistance to students aspiring to
perform or pursue studies overseas.
