The Enhanced Developmental & Learning Intervention Program (EDLIP) is suitable for preschoolers with mild developmental needs from the ages of 4 to 8 in preparation for primary education. EDLIP program, designed with low student to teacher ratio of 2:1, will ensure that your child is provided with high quality curriculum delivery to prepare him for his primary education. The intensive and holistic curriculum will focus on developmental and learning support and is delivered by a group of coaching staff that has psychology qualifications. The activities of the program will help your child to acquire age-appropriate skills to optimise their learning and to prepare them for primary education. The program includes:

Trying to get your child to complete his or her homework can often leave parents frustrated, and may even be worse if the child has difficulties in learning. Completing just a page of Mathematics homework can take more than an hour, leaving parents feeling helpless, tired and angry, often causing strained relationships in the process.
 
Cognitive’s homework support program is designed to provide a structured environment for Primary Level students, with difficulties in learning, to develop discipline in completing their homework.
 
Our teaching specialists provide schoolwork assistance and include extra practice materials to enhance the child’s understanding. Your child will develop better discipline in the areas of time management, responsibilities to complete their task and empowered to organize his work. The child’s attitude, behavior, academic performance and bonding with their parents will naturally improve over time.

When young children, between birth to six years old, are diagnosed with having developmental and learning issues, one of the parents’ concerns is how the child is able to cope with the demands of school’s learning environment. This does not restrict to just social behaviourial issues but also conforming to school environmental and learning norms. Cognitive’s Early Intervention program is designed to help children learn the basic skills that typically develop during the first six years of life, and prepare them for the mainstream school environment. The program includes:

-cognitive (thinking, learning, solving problems);

-communication (talking, listening, responding, articulating and understanding);

-social/emotional (playing, feeling secure and happy); and

-self-help (eating, dressing).

The program will help to facilitate developmental growth and milestones achievement by providing a comprehensive social, behaviourial and educational service.

A child facing academic performance issues often has to cope with pressure and stress from his environment. Biologically, the child will react and show negative behavior and attitude. This would fuel further deterioration in academic performance to a point that finally both parents and child give up on education.
 
In Cognitive, we believe that poor academic performance is not solely the result of learning difficulties. Primary Schoolers will be supported by a professionally designed environment, customized learning plan, teaching specialist with Psychology or teaching background. He will be shown that learning is not that difficult, after all. Foundation skills and key concepts that typically are expected in school are reinforced to help the child learn.
 
Your child will be taught unique strategies that allow him to understand the purpose behind every skill/technique, and be empowered to develop new skills to solve the question or problem; eliminating the need for hard memory work, and understanding and constructing new knowledge. We will also use behavioural modification strategies to improve their attitude towards learning.
 
These include direct instruction, guided discovery, investigative approach, open approach, problem-based learning and so on. The selection of strategies depends greatly on the content to be taught and the abilities, needs and interests of students

Secondary students with difficulties in learning faces challenges in concept learning, understanding, application, and finally, inability to deliver results in exams. Poor or underdevelopment of foundation skills, low concentration stamina and inefficient working memory are some of the common root issues hindering the students’ progress.
 
Cognitive Secondary program, besides resolving root issues and reinforcing key concepts, also aims to help teenagers acquire analytical and application skills for each subject.
 
Your teenager will be taught techniques that will adheres to his learning style. It will allow him to understand the purpose behind every skill/ technique and be empowered to develop new problem solving skills; eliminating the need for hard memory work, and understanding and constructing new knowledge. Your teenager will feel that they are working with our teaching specialist instead of being taught, a different learning experience that will enhance his interest in the subject matter.
